Politicians showing off their style diversity |
As a political junkie, I'm on high alert during election cycles for the candidates' style statements. Sure, the balloons and colored lights are fun, but what can match the tension of waiting to see what shade of drab gray suits the convention stars will wear? And what about those ties? It's got to be tough to decide each day whether to wear the blue one or the red one. Making policy statements is risky; you can't please everyone, but making style statements is pretty safe. When I choose a man to represent me in government, I like knowing that he has the right stuff in his closet, and the
courage to step out there and express himself, and dress differently than the person he's standing next to. (Yes, women politicians already do that, but please notice that none of them made it to the big race.)

Semi casual style option. Sleeves must be buttoned. White shirt preferred. |
Full casual. Note rolled sleeves, black watch, neutral pants. |
So Monday will be just another day for me. I'll tromp the treadmill as usual with Barney Fife and Hawkeye, waiting for Tuesday night.
