Packing Prairieville Part 2

This morning I found this sign at my blog station in the kitchen here in Prairieville. How very thoughtful! My son the host continues to shower me with attention and assignments as we prepare to move the contents of this house and its remaining occupants to Madison, Indiana. He plies me with early morning coffee in bed, then makes a cleverly disguised suggestion like, "Wow. Look at those windows. They need cleaning."
I needed help to get the coffee to my lips. My muscles since yesterday can only perform the same repetitive motion of wrapping and placing glassware in boxes.

Host's wife, my daughter is law is a tasteful decorator, but with a penchant for weird shaped, extremely large glass objects.
Shown with a water bottle for comparison, these two puppies will need a box each for safe transport, and I estimate the cost of packing materials at $7.80. That's 80 cents more than I ever paid for a decor item in my life. In our house, we keep Dasani bottles on our mantle and are proud of them.

Day one of my mission was somewhat boring, except for the little game of finding the biggest and most difficult-to-wrap items in the house. So far, it's a tossup between those glass things on the mantle and the white cat who leans on his elbows and watches me as I work. I somehow feel he would be happiest if we just left him on the chair for the movers to deal with.
The triumph of the day was a trip to an office supply store, where we returned a purchase made in April and found boxes on sale. It took longer than I had hoped, and the embarrassment  to my son grew by the minute, as I haggled for an advertised special on boxes. Even though we saved $2.50, and left the store with ten great boxes, and got $1.04 in change, I found myself walking to the parking lot not in triumph but in shame. My son was lying in the back seat of the car, hiding from view.

There is much to do today, but I don't do windows.
