We Lose Another Icon

iCons on iPhone
Each morning I check the news for blogspiration. I just made up that word. Lots of words are made up each day, and even more words are assigned new meaning, like "Icon." It used to mean a picture of a sacred  Christian personage. Icons are frequently found on Eastern Church walls. (That's Eastern as in Russia, not eastern as in Atlantic City.)
In techno-speak, an icon is a symbol of an application, like "phone." The photo at the right shows an iPhone held by my miniature grandson. Note the colorful icons.
Today's news laments the loss of an "Icon," a famous person who died. Well, they used to die; now they pass. Maybe soon we'll iconiate, which means we were cool, but now we're gone.
All that pales in comparison to the actual loss of an icon. I should know. Mine fell off my phone on the front lawn yesterday and it took me forever to find them.
