Mac Attack

Handy white device with lid

I'm recovering from a traumatic case of the black screen blues. Yesterday, while trying to surf the internet I was clearly belly-flopping as I stumbled around a rather dim screen on my Macbook. I googled "dim screen" and was assured it was something common and fixable, so I dismissed it until later, much like our leaky toilet. I'll get around to it.
I reached to tap the brightness key, but missed by one teeny key and everything went black. What followed next was a pathetic display of frantic measures. I pulled every cable and smacked every key, all the while wondering if I

had backed up the computer in the last year.
My mood went  as black as the screen.
I imagined my blog fans, all 23 of them,
with blazing torches marching up our driveway, yelling "Stupid woman! You hit the wrong key!"
With a heavy heart I went to bed and
fell asleep composing an Ode to a Fallen Laptop.
This morning I went to say goodbye to my computer comrade. As I fondled its worn keys I must have hit the ON button or something. As inexplicably as it had gone black it woke up, and I am back in business. It was either a miracle or a case of stupidity heaped on stupidity. In either case, I am going to fix the leaky toilet.
